Sweetopia® has yet once again stepped out of her comfort zone (who am I trying to kid...I thrive on out-of-the-box ideas) and created her "Sizzlin Southern Sour Cherry Upside Down Cake that is gluten-free, nut-free, preservative-free, dye-free and VEGAN! Wow...that's a mouth full and a wonderful one it is. It all begins with my homemade cherry pie filling that is made with fresh morello sour cherries that are bathed and gently cooked in a luscious syrup of vanilla, orange juice & zest, and sugar, and will be the crème de la crème topping for the golden vanilla/coconut-based cake that sits beneath that is rich with pure vanilla and coconut extracts, unsweet coconut flecks, organic unsweet coconut milk, and rough sugar crystals. The end result of these two flavor combinations are a perfect match and balance each other - not overly coconut nor tart. Just darn good! And no.... no cardboard tasting (or in texture) artisan sweet made or sold in any form at Sweetopia®. When to start and finish with nothing but the best of quality and natural ingredients from the least to the most, you'll experience the difference that makes. Or as the saying goes...."the proof is in the pudding". Cake is sold in 9" size and yields approx. 12-14 servings. Please allow 5-6 business days for order to be filled.
