This interestingly titled and all natural GF & nut-free cake is lusciously moist and rich in texture with subtle notes of all natural rich cocoa throughout with hues of deep red that is likely caused by the reaction of acidic unfiltered raw vinegar and buttermilk and also helps bring out the red anthocyanin (the red flavonoid pigment found in plants) in the cocoa as well as the all natural plant-based red food coloring used in this cake recipe. The end result is one deliciously moist and "velvety" rich cake. It needs nothing more than one of my all natural frostings for its crowning finish. Cake sold in 6" and 9" size. The 6" cake yields approx. 6-8 servings. 9" cake yields approx. 12-16 servings. Standard cake is 2 layer with frosting in between layers. Sample shown is a french Dariole style (small round cylindrical cake) sliced and filled with vanilla buttercream frosting (and dairy free).
