Her all natural, GF & Nut-Free artisan tartlet creation ‘Lavish Lemon Crème w/Blueberry Compote" is a several step process and begins with my wonderful single-baked vanilla shortbread cookie crust that houses the main event of a lemon pastry cream or creme patisserie (one of the most common creams used in cakes and pastry products) made with fresh lemon zest, cream sugar, butter and egg yolks and slowly cooked to just the right consistency and balance of lemon overtone. This ever-so-smooth chilled crème shares the limelight with a simple yet perfect blueberry compote finish that is full fresh blueberries lightly sweetened with a little sugar, hint of fresh lemon juice & zest and slowly cooked to a slightly thickened state. It’s a perfect combination of the vanilla shortbread crust, smooth and firm lemon creme and slightly sweetened blueberries in a naturally thickened syrup. Basic ingredients yet when combined become anything but ordinary! It's a "lavish" ending to any brunch, lunch or dinner menu selection.
