Charming Cherry Tartlet w/Spice Crumble

Sweetopia® kicks it up another notch with her latest all natural, GF & Nut-Free artisan tartlet creation ‘Charming Cherry tartlet w/Spice Crumble. It all begins with my wonderful twice-baked vanilla shortbread cookie crust that houses the main event of a generous portion of fresh tart red cherries lightly sweetened with sugar, fresh orange juice & zest, vanilla, a pinch of nutmeg and light thickening of arrowroot. Before being popped into the oven to bake each tartlet (mini pie) is generously finished off with a light spice crumble with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg. It’s a perfect balance of lightly sweet and ever-so-faintly tart, blending well in taste with slight overtones of orange coming through each forkful. Their basic ingredients but when combined become anything but ordinary! It’s a perfect ending to any brunch, lunch or dinner menu selection.
